bullet

A FMA Flowbench measures air volume at a given test pressure. The pressure is measured under the test object. Using a Percent Gauge -    (Inclined Manometer) this pressure drop together with the pressure flow of the motors is measured against a known (calibrated) orifice on the side  of the machine (ranges such as 100cfm, 200cfm), to determine volumetric flow: eg
a flow of 90% on the 200cfm range would be 180cfm : 200 x .9 (90%) = 180.

bullet

Accuracy is achieved by having LARGE Percent gauges and multiple ranges.

bullet

With a FMA flowbench there's little wasted power as you only have on the motors needed for any given range.

bullet

FMA flowbenches use air pumps to suck or blow through the test object to achieve the test pressures. The main test pressure used by FMA is 28in WC (which is about 1psi). But any pressure can be used up to the limit of the Pressure Gauge.

bullet

Changing from Inlet to Exhaust is very simple on the FMA machines and takes about 5 seconds with colour coded Slides.

bullet

FMA use the largest custom made Percent Gauges that will fit on the machines for best accuracy.

bullet

FMA Percent Gauges are designed for FMA machines. On a range of 380cfm a change of 0.5cfm can easily be seen

bullet

For comparative flow readings a standard test pressure is used. This makes comparing other flowed objects easier.

bullet

Taking readings throughout the range of valve lifts can show holes or peaks in the flow which can easily be seen on the Free Software provided with each machine.

bullet

The Free Software will provide you with information such as Potential Horse Power, Safe RPM, Maximum RPM, Intake manifold length, as well as print Graphs for Inlet, Exhaust, Exhaust to Inlet ratio and also helps in selecting the right Cam.

bullet

For the most accurate flow readings on cylinder heads FMA recommends using the setup as close as possible to what it would be like on the engine, as flow can vary quite a bit without the manifold and or attachments connected.

bullet

All machines come with a full 12 month warranty.

bullet

Full phone support to the original owner for as long as they have the machine.

bullet

Now you also receive a FREE Instruction DVD with every machine.

FME Machines

bullet
The NEW FME machines can test at 70in wg pressure.
bullet
They now have one Toggle switch to change direction readings instead of two manual switches.
bullet
The Pressure control knob can be eliminated.
bullet
The physical size is smaller, so freight is less.
bullet
Their is no replacing gauge fluids.
bullet
The Backboard and Instruments have been replaced by Electronics, so costs are lower.
